[Issue #1, Winter 1997-98]
Three Poems by Jim Stevens
From Earth Hunter
Filmed over a four-day period in July, 1997 at Wisconsin's Aztalan State
Park, Earth Hunter is a 52-minute video of Seneca poet Jim Stevens
performing eleven of his poems, in addition to his recounting of the Seneca
legend, "How Stories Came into the World."
The three poems printed here -- Mole's Blues,
Seeing the Forest, and He
Who Combs -- also include Stevens's own annotations on the origins and
themes of his work, and are reprinted from the text that accompanies the
Earth Hunter videotape. The video and text are available from Woodhenge
Press.
